Guests can recharge their batteries at Maritim: Hotels across Germany equipped with e-charging stations
"Green and very convenient" is how Erik van Kessel describes the new environmentally friendly refuelling stations in over 20 Maritim hotels nationwide. Together with the technical team, the Managing Director Operations has pushed ahead with the expansion of the charging stations in recent months, and the new charging stations are now available to both business travellers and private guests - and exclusively with sustainable green electricity.
"We are primarily concerned with the service we offer our guests, who should be able to charge their electric vehicles conveniently and safely during their stay. We also want to further expand our commitment to sustainability and support our customers in improving their carbon footprint," he explains the overall concept.
The number of electric car owners is growing steadily, with a good 1.4 million cars with electric drives and over 900,000 plug-in hybrid cars registered in 2024, according to Statista. For many e-drivers, hotels with charging stations are therefore simply more attractive. "Modern travellers expect a service like this; business travellers in particular don't want to spend time searching for external charging options, but want to refuel quickly and be sure that their vehicle is fully charged and ready to continue their journey the next day. We are delighted to be able to offer this convenience with environmentally friendly green electricity. A strong signal for even more sustainability“, Erik van Kessel summarises.
At the Maritim Airport Hotel Hannover, for example, the existing e-charging structure was recently expanded from five to 26 charging points. It is easy to use via app or charging card from various providers. The charging points in the hotel's underground car park are primarily available to hotel guests, but visitors to Hannover-Langenhagen Airport can also use the stations. Parking fees apply for the parking space.
Guest interest and demand for electric mobility is increasing in all German Maritim hotels: will electric charging points soon become the "new Wi-Fi" and thus a natural service offering in the hotel industry? Many experts assume so - guests can already find both in the German Maritim Hotels.
